Reiki Classes:
There are four levels of Reiki being taught.
Reiki I is an introduction to spiritual healing as a whole, learning to heal ones self, and helping close friends, and family. It is taught once a month on a Sunday. See calendar for specific dates.
Reiki II is the developing of one's sense of spiritual healing and learning to help others heal and strengthening your connection with Gods Universal Life Energy (Chi) using symbols etc. It is taught once a month on a Sunday. See calendar of events for specifics.
Reiki III delves deeper into developing one's spiritual healing senses, spiritual counseling, additional Reiki symbols and learning attunements. It is the beginning of the internship to becoming a Master Teacher. See calendar of events for details and schedules.
Reiki IV is becoming a Master Teacher passing on the Attunements for Reikis I, II, and III after at least a years internship working under your master. See calendar of events for details and schedules
What is Reiki ? (Ray Key)
This practice has its roots among Tibetan Buddhist but was formalized in Japan and brought to this country in the late 1930's. There are several schools of Reiki and the form may vary slightly. There are also many spiritual healing modalities using different names but the concept is the same. The Usui method is the traditional method of Reiki. Dr. Usui was a Japanese physician who practiced this healing method at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. The term "Reiki" has become synonymous with many forms of spiritual healing where the "energy flow" or Chi is the target of the healing process.
Minimal hand contact is made by the practitioner in the attempt to balance or unblock energy. A special therapy table is often used on which the client lies comfortably on his or her back. However it is also common to be experienced while sitting in a chair. There may be an experience or sensation of warmth or tingling.
Practitioners may have varying levels of training. Beginner training is Level 1, and can continue until the student becomes a Reiki Master at Level 3. The 4th level is the training to teach others. It is reasonable to ask the practitioner about his/her training as this field is not formally licensed or regulated in the State of Florida.
Use of Energy in Therapy
Many alternative medicine practices, especially those of Asian origin, have a common belief system. This involves the energy mechanics or energy flow throughout the body. The "chi", "ki", and "qi" as in Ti Chi, Reiki, and Qiqong, respectively is this life force. Illness, pain and fatigue are believed to be caused by blockages in the flow of the energy or decreased levels of life force energy.
Reikis method of healing as is most spiritual healing modalities is designed to develop, promote and adjust this energy of life flow so that the bodys natural healing process can continue its way to a natural healing. As did Dr. Usui, this method is designed to help ailing persons heal themselves. . . not to rely entirely on the physician to do all the work. Reiki or any other spiritual healing modality is not designed to replace the doctor but assist in the healing process.
The various spiritual healing practices are based on different concepts of what form the energy pattern takes. For example, the "aura" is believed to be the visualization of the body's energy field, and the visible field can be used to diagnose based on its color and/or strength.
Many of these spiritual healing modalities or therapies use some form of light work on the body that will support relaxation of the body as well as to transfer energy through the practitioner to the client, evaluate blockages and balance the energy field.
Reiki or this spiritual method of healing can be learned by anyone. It has been given many names and many similar descriptions. However, the concept is still the same regardless what it is called.
You can learn to heal yourself or help others to do the same using the Reiki method or concept and its variations. When traditional medicine does not work or needs a little help along the way, you can learn how to use this healing universal energy of life or "Chi" as your companion to a longer and healthier life.
Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 Classes are taught on a regular bases ( monthly) at the Spirit of Deer retreat. Rev. Donna Conley is a Master/Teacher. See calendar of events for schedules. Reiki 's 3 and 4 are scheduled as the need develops.
